Is the Home Efficiency Rebate (HER) still active in 2026?

The original HER program has concluded its intake. It has been replaced by the Home Renovation Savings™ program, an enhanced initiative by Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy. This new program offers more flexibility, including single-measure rebates for high-performance windows and doors.

How much can I receive for replacing my windows and doors?

How much can I receive for replacing my windows and doors?

You can receive $100 back for every rough opening replaced. To qualify, you must replace at least three window/skylight openings or one door opening with ENERGY STAR® certified products.

What does "Rough Opening" mean?

What does "Rough Opening" mean?

A rough opening refers to the structural hole in your wall. If you have a large bay window consisting of three separate units within one structural opening, it counts as one rough opening. Our team will help you calculate your exact rebate potential during your consultation.

Can I get a rebate if I only replace my windows?

Under the 2026 guidelines, most rebate paths require a minimum of two upgrades (e.g., Windows + Air Sealing or Windows + Insulation). However, certain "streamlined" paths may exist for specific heating types. We will help you select the most strategic bundle to ensure your project qualifies.

Are rental or secondary properties eligible?

Yes. Unlike previous federal grants, the Home Renovation Savings™ program is available for both primary and non-primary residences (rentals, cottages, etc.) located in Ontario and heated by a qualifying fuel source.

Yes. Upon successful completion of your upgrades and final audit, the program provides a $600 reimbursement specifically to offset the cost of the energy assessments.
